Miura standard supply guidance is 3 to 5 psig upstream of the boiler gas train, subject to the installation manual and project-specific regulator selection. Pressure that is too low can cause ignition failure, unstable combustion, or failure to transition firing stages. Pressure above equipment ratings is unacceptable.
Conversion: 1 psi = 27.7 in. w.c. Actual required inlet pressure depends on model, load, regulator setpoint, and pressure drop through the service and piping.
- Obtain maximum input and allowable inlet-pressure range from the current submittal.
- Size piping and regulators for coincident operating load, not one boiler unless operation is interlocked.
- Check available pressure at maximum flow.
- Confirm regulator outlet remains below its inlet pressure at high fire.
- Verify local requirements, including special regulator ratings.
