What is BOILERMATE®?

BOILERMATE® is the brand of boiler water and steam treatment that Miura has created. The chemicals were designed by Miura for use with Miura boilers. Thus, they are uniquely formulated for use with Miura equipment.

The main chemicals fall into the following categories:

Boiler water treatment
Condensate treatment
Scale prevention and removal

Combining the Miura Boiler with Miura's BOILERMATE®, it is:

Unnecessary to adjust chemical injection on a daily basis.
Responding to the boiler’s operation, the necessary amount of chemical is injected to the boiler system.
Miura does not use chemicals such as sulfite and phosphate, which require constant monitoring.
In response to water quality and water quality issues, optimum water treatment is automatically controlled by the boiler and various sensors.

Boiler Water Quality Guidelines

Miura boilers are designed with a unique structure (once-through boilers) where the water content is smaller than conventional boilers. Proper water management is essential for any steam boiler operations. Based on the above reasons, chemistry values have been specially designed for Miura Steam Boilers. This guideline helps to attain the longest possible life for boilers operating under standard conditions. Continuous maintenance and monitoring are key to preventing water related issues. Miura also recommends the use of Miura's boiler water treatment chemical, BOILERMATE®.

Notes:

Sulfite oxygen scavenger programs may not be effective for Miura steam boilers and are not recommended for treatment by Miura.
Phosphorus containing water treatments creates excess solids that are not water-soluble. This type of treatment may result in scaling and is not recommended for treatment by Miura.

END USER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Water testing must be performed every day.
A full water test (not just hardness) for all water types must be done every month.
Test results should be compared to the above BOILER WATER GUIDELINES FOR MIURA BOILERS.
It is recommended to consult a qualified water treatment professional and/or Miura when attempting to follow these guidelines.
